homemade embossing buddy

Good evening crafters!
Just thought I would share a little tidbit from a dear friend of mine Heather at The Kraaft Shaak. She is a wonderful person and has great ideas for ways of being frugal in her crafting. I have always wanted and embossing buddy, but never wanted to spend the money on one. They are super handy for anyone who does heat embossing. You just swipe it across your paper before you stamp and it removes the static from the surface so the embossing powder only sticks to your image. She was kind enough to share a quick video tutorial on how to make one at home for cheap! You just need cornstarch, a knee high panty hose, scrap felt and some embroidery floss.

Page Kits!

Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a few of the page kits I have available for purchase at the store. They are on sale for 7$ per kit and each kit contains materials for a double (or 2 page) layout and a page protector. You can just add photos and move on, or you can add your own embellishments to give it your personal touch. As always, I would love to help you shop for some special touches to really personalize it! These kits are great whether you are an avid scrapbooker and just want to push out a few quick pages or a beginner who would like a starting point. I tried to keep the spaces for the photos fairly standard so you can just print them and attach.

This is the "Precious Little Man" kit. It includes everything you see including the gold brads

Here is what I did with the kit. The colors on my finished product are much closer to what it really looks like. I added my pictures (of course!), the birth announcement from the newspaper, a few buttons, some twine, a stamped image of footprints and some pearls.

Of course, we need a girl page! Sweet Little Princess

With the soft pink background and bling accents, perfect pages for any girlie-girl! The larger space will fit a 5x7 photo and 3 spaces for 4x6 photos.

Here are a few more of the kits I have ready-to-go right now.

Our first crop!!

Hello all! It has taken me embarrassingly too long to get working on this blog. You will notice the background/template is different. I was having some difficulties with the one I had originally, so had to change it.

On 1-26-13 I hosted the first of hopefully many crop days! We all met up in the huge conference room that our Sheriff's Dept so generously lets folks like me use. Being a scrapbooker, of course I had my camera with me, even sitting in the chair right next to me, all day. Do you suppose I took pics? I did, but not very many and I missed getting photos of several of the gals that had dropped in during the day.

That being said, I will share the pics I did get!

This is the beginning. If you can believe it, all this stuff is only split between 4 of us!

This is my awesome BFF/SIL Susan and her page she was working on.

My apologies to Rileigh and the other gals I didn't get a snapshot of, NEXT TIME!! :)
It was such a fun day of chatting and laughing and even some crafting and scrapbooking! I do plan on having another one sometime towards the end of February, so keep an eye out for the news!

On another note, I have an order going in this week and another next week. If there is any thing specific you would like to have, please let me know! If you pre-order and pre-pay you get 10% off of your order, free shipping and you will get exactly what you want!! There is a link on the right sidebar with my Facebook page and you can message me there or you can shoot me an email at mindi@butterflypapercrafts.com.

I can't forget, Happy Superbowl Sunday! :)
